Comizahual School
Comizahual School is an immersive community learning space where young women train in agroecology, soil microbiology, and climate action. Our curriculum seamlessly integrates scientific knowledge with the ancestral wisdom of the Lenca territory.
Through hands-on, collective processes, the School strengthens capacity for soil regeneration, water conservation, and biodiversity restoration. Additionally, it promotes leadership, autonomy, and the participation of young women in community decision-making.
This year, our founder Silvia Ayala is one of the recipients of the Climate Fellowship from the organization AMOS TRUST, a fellowship that seeks to empower women land defenders in Mexico and Central America. Thanks to this fellowship and funding, 10 young women will be participating in the first generation of Comizahual School, which aims to involve young women in community processes for the restoration of our soils and ancestral Lenca wisdom.
